BURN BAN TO LIFT ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 11TH at 0001 hrs
Dan Young, Kittitas County Fire Marshal, today announced that Kittitas County will lift the county wide burn ban effective Saturday October 11th at 0001 hours.
Although we have not received a Season Ending rain event in Kittitas County, temperatures, humidity, and the fire weather forecast have reduced the threat of large, destructive wildfires enough to lift the burn ban.
The possibility of open burning spreading to become wildfire is still a risk, and those who use fire must do so responsibly. Burn only in a clear, fuel-free area; be prepared to extinguish the fire if necessary; don’t burn garbage or construction debris; never leave a fire unattended; and don’t burn when sustained winds are over 10 miles per hour.
